Terence Newman, one of the highest-drafted defensive players in Cowboys history, has been selected into the next class for the College Football Hall of Fame.

Long before his 15-year NFL career, Newman was one of the most electrifying players in college football at Kansas State. In his four years with the Wildcats, Newman helped KSU win 39 games and have three 11-win seasons. Newman was the 2002 Big XII Defensive Player of the Year and a two-time All-American. But along with being a shutdown corner who picked off 10 passes, but he played on all three phases, returning four kicks for touchdowns and occasionally playing wide receiver as well.

Newman was picked No. 5 overall by the Cowboys in 2003, the first draft pick of head coach Bill Parcells in Dallas. Newman played nine seasons with the Cowboys, earning two Pro Bowls (2007, 2009). He played six more years - three each with the Bengals and Vikings, wrapping up a 15-year career. Newman finished his time in Dallas tied for seventh in team history with 32 interceptions. His career ended with 42 picks and Newman is still one of seven players in NFL history to record an interception in each of his first 15 seasons in the league.

The 2026 class includes notable players such as Aaron Donald, Marvin Harrison, Peter Warrick and Mark Ingram. The induction ceremony will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 8, at the Bellagio Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.
