FRISCO, Texas — Walk into an offensive line meeting in Dallas and ask to speak to Tyler, and you'll immediately be reminded you need to be more specific, friend. That's because, this offseason, the Cowboys added Tyler Booker to a group that saw Tyler Guyton join a unit, 2024, anchored by Tyler Smith — three first-round picks acquired over the last four NFL drafts.

Smith, looked upon to join offensive tackle Terence Steele as elder statesman of the group following the departure/retirement of future Hall of Fame linemen Tyron Smith and Zack Martin, spoke on what he's seeing from the two younger Tylers heading into mandatory minicamp.

"[It's all about] ingratiating them with the group," said the All-Pro left guard. "I wanna do more, like bringing them into the cookouts we have. Just bringing them along and getting [Booker] ingratiated into the culture. I can already tell he's a bright man — has a high ceiling. He's gonna be a great player.

"And Guyton, it was a little bit tumultuous together and we've been training together all spring. He's changed up his diet. He's leaner. I can't really ask for more right now. We're gonna compete and get better everyday, and they're gonna do well."

Guyton detailed the changes to his offseason approach heading into Year 2 in a separate Q&A, and Booker continues to impress to this point with his work ethic and attention to detail — all things Smith is taking to heart as head coach Brian Schottenheimer looks to the Cowboys' offensive line to set the tone for everything the offense does going forward.

"It's extremely important that we all rise to the occasion," Smith said. "As everybody can see, this is an extremely competitive division with great offensive and defensive lines. We understand that. … I think it's gonna start and end with us when it comes to the success of this football team."

Culture is being preached and constructed by Schottenheimer, and that's no secret, seeing as he consistently proclaims his goal to make the Cowboys' culture "the best in all of sports"; and that's a message that resonates deeply within the heart and mind of Smith.

Having gone from being a rookie first-round pick to one of the team's leaders, both on the field and in the locker room, in the span of only three years — along with welcoming Conor Riley and Klayton Adams as offensive line coach and offensive coordinator, respectively, in the latest round of coaching changes — life is heading fast toward the 24-year-old, but he's embracing all that comes with it.

"I think it's huge for the success of this football team," Smith said of Schottenheimer's approach.. "Establishing the culture early and getting everybody on board is ultimately our goal. Schotty talks about it every day, but we're gonna compete everyday. Sometimes he has to pull back on us [in practice] but I'd rather him pull back on us than us not go hard.

"… The ultimate goal is to win the Super Bowl."

The offensive line, inclusive of the law firm of Tyler, Tyler & Tyler, will have a lot to do with how close the Cowboys get to that goal, that much is guaranteed.
