INGLEWOOD, Calif. — Don't look now, but NFL football is back. As the 2025 preseason opener speeds toward the ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵÏÂÔØÈë¿Ú and the Los Angeles Rams, the two having squared off in a scrimmage only days prior, it's an opportunity for both to take what they've learned from their joint practice and to further evaluate their rosters.
A win or loss doesn't matter, but performances will still reign supreme, and that's especially true for players fighting for a spot on what will be a highly contested final 53-man roster — at several positions of need in Dallas.
And though you can plan on a "vanilla' flavor of playcalling for the first-ever game in the Brian Schottenheimer era, hellbent on not showing the rest of the league his cards, there can be little doubt it'll still be one to watch.
WHEN AND WHERE:
Date: Saturday, August 9
Time: 6 pm CT
Location: SoFi Stadium (Inglewood, California)
Having yet to decide if and who will take the field on Saturday, what the Cowboys do know is that there will be a lot of youth on the field trying to make a name for themselves. And the preseason has been known to turn little-knowns into household names, most notably KaVontae Turpin, while also buying time for others to improve — e.g., Kemon Hall delivering a preseason pick-six as a rookie and, in his second season, challenging for a roster spot.
So who's the next to dominate in August with the goal of being an impact piece come September?
Tune in and find out. Because, again, NFL football is back.
